Theater

Theater class is a fun journey that helps us learn not only how to perform, but also help us grow in creativity, confidence, interpersonal skills, and respect and appreciation for the art of theater and for others.

The class is very different than other classes because we get up and move around, play theater games, create together, perform together and support and encourage each other along the way. Although there will be some written work and tests, most grades will be earned from artistic discipline grades, class activities and performances.

Extracurricular Activity: The Garcia Theater Company

The Garcia Theater Company is a group made up of our Performance class and auditioned participants which will compete in the Pre-UIL One-Act Play Contest, in which we earned 3rd place last year. We also attend the Irma P. Hall Theater Festival which offers several events for students to perform. For productions, we hope to produce a talent showcase in the fall and a musical in the spring. This group rehearses both in class and after school.
